Who is SUDACare

Empowering Nigerian communities with care, knowledge, and support to overcome substance use challenges together.

SUDA Care is a community-based organization that strengthens prevention, referral, and recovery for substance use disorders by working through Nigeria’s most trusted systems: faith–based institutions, traditional leadership, and community networks; using an asset-based, science-informed, and culturally respectful approach.

SUDACare’s Positionality
Several individuals are engaged in a community cleanup, collecting trash from a gutter. They are dressed casually and are focused on picking up plastic bottles and litter. The setting is outdoors, with bags to collect the trash.
A hand is holding a pack labeled 'RELIEF' with an image of a rhino and text indicating 20 premium filtered hemp cigarettes, 17% CBD, and 0% THC. The background is blurred greenery with soft lighting.
Several adults are gathered around a young girl, placing their hands gently on her shoulders in a supportive gesture. They seem to be outdoors, with trees and a small building visible in the background. The scene conveys a sense of care and community.

How do we work?

How do we provide value?

1

Identify & Engage

We work with faith institutions, traditional leaders, and community systems to recognize early signs of substance use challenges and engage individuals and families with dignity and compassion.

2

Train & Equip

We provide culturally respectful, evidence‑informed training that builds the capacity of trusted leaders to offer safe guidance, reduce stigma, and understand ethical boundaries.

3

Connect to Care

We strengthen community‑to‑clinical pathways, ensuring individuals and families are linked to appropriate psychological, neuropsychological, and medical services.

4

Sustain Recovery

We reinforce family‑centered and community‑based support structures that complement clinical care and promote long‑term recovery, dignity, and reintegration.
